The third conditional: past hypotheticals

 The third conditional

Estructura:

La estructura usualmente es la siguiente:

If +  past perfect + would have + past participle

Aplicación:

Se lo utiliza para imaginar un pasado diferente y el resultado que tendría en el presente.

Ejemplos:

  • If Will had signed up for skydiving lessons earlier, he would have been prepared for his jump last month.
  • If Will had maintained a calm demeanor, he would have enjoyed the adrenaline rush of skydiving even more.
  • If Will had chosen a clear day for his jump, he would have had a clearer view of the landscape below.
  • If Will had visualized himself successfully completing the jump, he would have felt more confident during the experience.
