Phrasal verbs relacionadas con reuniones

  A continuación les dejo una lista de phrasal verbs relacionadas con reuniones:

  • bring forward : adelantar un evento o suceso.
    • Ejemplos:
      • They have brought forward the date of their wedding by one week.
  • call off : suspender algún evento planificado.
    • Ejemplos:
      • The meeting was called off because the manger was ill.
      • The picnic was called off due to the storm
  • draw up: preparar algo oficial por escrito.
    • Ejemplos:
      • We need our lawyer to draw up a new distribution contract.
      • Linda's proposal sounded good, so I told her draw it up and present it to the members
  • figure out: ser capaz de entender algo o de resolver un problema.
    • Ejemplos:
      • To complete the puzzle, study the clues and try to figure out the solution
      • He soon figured out what the problem with his computer was.
  • go over: revisar o repasar una serie de cosas para poder lograr su entendimiento.
    • Ejemplos:
      • I want to go over the points discussed in the last meeting
  • hand out: regalar algo a un grupo de personas.
    • Ejemplos:
      • As the students filed into the classroom, their teacher handed out the examination booklets.
      • A couple of teenagers were standing in front of the department store handing flyers out to the people walking past
  • jot down: anotar.
    • Ejemplos:
      • I jotted down some of the figures she mentioned during her presentation.
      • I saw her jot some notes down while he was speaking: I wonder what she wrote.
  • look forward to: sentirse emocionado/a por algo que va a suceder.
    • Ejemplos:
      • I always look forward to our holidays in Bali. It's a beautiful place and every time we go there we have a great time
  • run out of: para indicar que no se tiene mas de alguna determinada cosa, por ejemplo tiempo.
    • Ejemplos:
      • Unfortunately, we have run out of time; we’ll continue the discussion next week.
      • We cut the meeting short because we ran out of ideas and needed some more time to brainstorm. 
  • wind up: para terminar algo.
    • Ejemplos:
      • People were starting to yawn and look at their watches, so I knew it was time to wind the meeting up
